THE Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS) warns the public against unauthorized individuals who promise job opportunities in Japan emphasizing they do not recruit workers.

It added that PNJKIS, formerly Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai School of Davao, is not connected nor related in any way to any recruitment agencies that allow people to work in Japan.

They likewise urged those who were duped by these illegal recruiters to coordinate with them to identify these perpetrators.

“You should consider reporting to your local law enforcement or you may contact our school about any suspected scams penetrated using the name of our school,” it further read.

For his part, Davao City Police Office director Police Colonel Alexander Tagum said that they have not received any complaints yet based on his monitoring. He advised the victims and those involved to report it to their office for immediate action and investigation.

He further warned the public about this modus who take advantage of the people seeking employment opportunities abroad.

Though the promise of working is enticing, however, he cautioned the public about good-to-be true offers by paying the bulk of money in exchange of work abroad and to further validate the eligibility of the agency they are in.

“They should first verify with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) or the local Japanese Consulate if these recruitment agencies are legitimate. Always validate information, huwag po'ng basta magpapaniwala sa mga pangako,” Tagum emphasized.

As of 2018, the POEA has accredited a total of 188 recruitment agencies for Japan’s Technical Intern Training Program program that are licensed to send Filipino skilled workers to Japan which is available on their website.
