Lawmaker unveils P5-M farm-to-market road project

FIRST district Congresswoman Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has unveiled a P5 million farm-to-market road project in the village of Patalon, 30 kilometers west of Zamboanga City.

Salazar said the project, which was unveiled Monday, was implemented with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and A-Teacher party-list Congressman Mariano Piamonte.

Salazar's district covers 37 villages in the western part of Zamboanga City.

She said the farm-to-market road project will help alleviate the plight of Patalon residents whose primary means of livelihood is farming, adding that it will enhance trade and commerce in the area.

The farm-to-market road project covers 720 linear meters concrete and 1.4 kilometers re-graveling.

Patalon village chief Francis Garina thanked Salazar, the DA and Piamonte for the implementation of the project in his place.

Garina said the project will greatly help his constituents in bringing down to the market their farm produce. (Bong Garcia)
