A FEMALE doctor was shot dead Monday, April 15, a year after her niece was also killed in Calbayog City, Samar.

Initial reports said the victim was identified as Dr. Vicky Rumohr, aunt of slain Catherine Rumohr-Johnson.

Rumohr, a dentist, was already lifeless when police arrived at the crime scene along the Magsaysay Boulevard Extension in the city around 5 p.m.

A single gunshot wound pierced through her left cheek and out of her nape. Responders said Rumohr died on the spot.

Rumohr-Johnson was also killed by a still unidentified gunman while she was taking her morning routine in the city in February last year.

Police are still investigating the motive in the crime. (SunStar Philippines)

This article has been corrected from Catherine Rumohr-Johnson being the sister of the victim to niece.
