MORE than 1,800 security forces deployed for the 26th Panaad sa Negros Festival were recognized on Monday, April 15, for their services rendered during the one week celebration in Bacolod City from April 8 to 14.
Police Major Edison Garcia, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said the festivity was generally peaceful without major incidents reported related to the festivity.
There were minor incidents such as “salisi” which is considered a theft incident and unjust vexation but they were all addressed and cases were filed against the suspects, unlike in the previous years wherein incidents of stabbing were recorded, he said.
A total of 856 personnel from Nocppo headed by Colonel Romeo Baleros, Nocppo director were awarded with Philippine National Police Commendation Medal (Medalya ng Papuri) during the termination of Task Force Panaad 2019 and awarding rites held at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, this city on Monday.
