MisOr targets zero casualty for Holy Week

THE disaster office of Misamis Oriental is raising blue alert status for the observance of the Holy Week as it aimed zero casualty in all religious destinations in the province.

Fernando Dy Jr., head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said a "Blue" code will be raised on Wednesday night until the Easter Sunday.

Governor Yevgeny Emano has called for a meeting to order rescuers and disaster personnel to put all preparations in full swing.

The code blue status means all rescue assets, equipment, including the installation of forward incident command post must be in place.

"Karon pa lang gi-ready na nato ang tanang preparations," Dy said.

The PDRRMO is focusing on the Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador City and Sipaka Heights in Talisayan town as bulk of devotees and faithfuls are expected to flock.

Dy said PDRRMO will also deploy personnel in Balingoan port and other small religious destinations, including beaches and resorts for the Easter Sunday celebration.

The eight provincial-run hospitals will also be directed to prepare for the observance.

Dy reminds the public to follow all regulations and refrain from bringing prohibited items such as alcoholic beverages, bladed weapons and sound systems, among others.

"Panawagan nato sa atong mga devotees nga magdala og payong kontra sa init, tubig, moinom daan sa tambal katong naay mga maintenance, ug dili na magdala sa mga gibawal," Dy said.

"Sa karon ready na ang PDRRMO para sa Holy Week ug tanan natong mga responders are equipped, ug andam na usab atong mga kagamitan," he added.
