Lihuk Forum: Chance for Oro candidates to show platforms, programs

CANDIDATES seeking a seat in the city council will get a chance to lay down their platforms and programs and present their position on various social issues through a forum initiated by the Lambigit Igsoon para sa Hiniusang Pag-uswag sa Katilingban (Lihuk) 2019 movement at the little theater of Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro today.

Nestor Banuag Jr., lead convenor of Lihuk movement and National Citizen's Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) provincial coordinator, said the activity is in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Banuag said similar forum will be conducted for congressional candidates and mayoral and vice-mayoral bets in the succeeding Tuesdays.

"Series of forum ni siya every Tuesday so we made sure nga tanan invited,"Banuag said.

Banuag said candidates will be given time to present their programs, advocacies and platforms.

Questions crafted from the community during the political education "Kwentuhang Bayan" will be raised while sectoral representatives present in the venue will also have an opportunity to throw questions.

Organizers have also formulated questions and issues for candidates to answer.

"We will make sure every candidate will have time to speak," Banuag said.

"Mag draw-lots ta sa pag-answer unya dili na nato ibalik ang ngalan sa kandidato kung human na siyag tubag," he added.
