THE vice-mayoralty debate of a radio station turned out to be a one-man show as Padayon Pilipino vice-mayoralty bet Vicente "Dongkoy" Emano failed to show up on Saturday.

The debate became a "talk show" with incumbent vice mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy as its only guest.

Uy, in his speech, wished Emano is doing better "health-wise" amid his absence.

"Atong gi-respetohan atong kaatbang, labina mas hamtong, mas taas og experience. Ug unta naa siya sa kapiskay ug kahimsog nga panglawas, my prayers are with him," Uy said.

But opposition Councilor and ally Leon Gan said there is nothing to worry about the former mayor's health.

He said Emano is currently out of town, visiting a family friend.

Meanwhile, Uy during the debate vowed that should he win, the City Council will continually be “proactive, dynamic and productive” in crafting legislation that would help improve the welfare and resolve the concerns of their constituents.

Uy said while the council maintains their independence, they support the agenda of City Mayor Oscar Moreno so long as they see that it benefits the welfare of Cagayan de Oro City's residents.

"Our legislations in the council are reactive, meaning kung unsay kinahanglan sa katawhan, sa matag sector we will approve it," Uy said.

"Dili man masolbad overnight ang mga problema pero at least gisugdan nato. Kung pilion kita ug balik, doblehon nato ang kakugi ug determinasyon," he said.

Another face off of local candidates will happen today for the City Councilors, District Representatives on April 23, and mayoral and vice-mayoral bets debate on April 30.

The event, called "Pag-ila: A Local Candidates' Fora," is initiated by Lihuk 2019 Movement.
