THE Provincial Government of Pampanga filed administrative and criminal charges against Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital Administrator Eddie Ponio before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Monday afternoon, April 15.

Provincial Administrator Andres Pangilinan Jr., General Services Office head Francis Maslog, Provincial Information Officer Joel Mapiles, and Management Information Systems Office head Marylou Espaltero went to the office of Provincial Prosecutor Lamberto Gonzales Jr. to file a complaint for violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and Malversation of Public Funds or Property against Ponio.

This came after campaign materials for his brother, Apolinario Gaddi Ponio Jr. who is running for 2nd district representative, were found to have been printed at the Hospital Information System Management Office (HISMO).

Also named respondents to the criminal charges are Ponio’s brother Apolinario and one Ronald Pacquing, who was caught in the act of printing the materials at the HISMO IT room.

Pacquing later told the task force that he was merely following the commands of the hospital chief.

"We are here now at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to take necessary action against Dr. Ponio's wrongdoings. I am here with my task force and also with the evidence to file against him, his brother, and Pacquing," Pangilinan said.

According to the Provincial Administrator, Ponio was given until the afternoon of April 16 to answer. (PR)
