ALANG sa kanhi coach sa Gilas Pilipinas nga si Rajko Toroman, adunay posibilidad nga mahimong 1st round pick sa National Basketball Association (NBA) ang batan-ong Pinoy nga higante nga si Kai Sotto kon mahisubay lang kini sa saktong training program.
Matod ni Toroman nga kon dili man gani mahimong 1st round pick si Sotto apan seguradong mahimo kining labing unang Pinoy nga makaduwa sa NBA.
“One of the tallest Filipinos, he is very talented. He is very young. He has a great future,” matod ni Toroman sa interbyu sa Spin.ph.
“I cannot predict if he can make it to Top 10, [but] he can be first Filipino in [NBA] draft, for sure.”
Gipasabot ni Toroman nga gawas nga adunay 7’2” nga gitas-on si Sotto sa edad nga 16, aduna sab kini saktong abilidad, taas og basketball IQ, shooting touch, decent dribbling skills ug maayo nga mopasa.
“He is extremely talented, he has the IQ, good block shots, good defense, great rebounder, he can dribble, he has perimeter shooting,” dugang ni Toroman.
“With his size and talent - and I hope he improves more and grows muscle - I think he can be a first-round draftee in the future.”
Matod ni Toroman nga sakto ang desisyon sa ginikanan ni Sotto nga ipadala ang ilang anak sa gawas sa nasod alang sa usa ka hugot nga pagbansaybansay.
“If you want to up your level, you have to be exposed to higher level opponents. I hope it is the path that Kai Sotto is taking now,” pasabot ni Toroman.
Sa kasamtangan, si Sotto nag-training sa Amerika ug aduna kini mga tantag gikan sa teams sa Europe. (ESL)
