THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the parents and relatives of six-year-old Jamaica Campaner Demape and 11-month-old Gabriel Joseph Perez.

Demape was born on Aug. 13, 2012. She was rescued by the anti-mendicancy team of Cebu City Hall’s social welfare and services.

The girl was referred to the Parian Drop-in Center on Aug. 28, 2016 for temporary shelter.

On July 6, 2018, Demape was referred to one of the DSWD 7’s licensed foster families for foster care placement and case management.

At 8:25 a.m. on May 8, 2018, Angelito Entis, 48, found a newborn placed inside a plastic bag beside a multicab in Purok Tambis, Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

The baby boy was then turned over to Eugerna Arnoza of the city social welfare and services of Mandaue City on the same day.

The baby is under foster care placement of DSWD 7. He was then given the name of Gabriel Joseph Perez.

DSWD 7 is requesting for the parents or relatives of the children to contact social worker Ivy Marie V. Semblante (412-9908, local 124).

They can also visit DSWD 7 on M.J. Cuenco Ave. corner Gen. Maxilom Ave. in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City from Monday to Friday at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., if they are still interested in getting their children back.

Failure of the parents and relatives to appear or claim the children within the period of three months would result in subjecting the children for filing of administrative abandonment before the DSWD’s central office.
