2 drug pushers nabbed in Negros Oriental

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate operations on April 15 and 16 in the municipalities of Siaton and Canlaon City, both in Negros Oriental.

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) identified the suspects as Rhea Binondo Remorosa, 29, a resident of Barangay Agan-an, Sibulan town, and Jumenick Marco Maquiling, 25, of Uptown, Barangay Mabigo in Canlaon City.

Maquiling was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, during a drug bust at the Uptown Public Market of Barangay Mabigo in Canlaon City.

The city police have tagged him as a “newly-identified” drug personality.

Recovered from Maquiling were one piece of small heat-sealed transparent sachet of shabu, a piece of plastic canister wrapped with electrical tape, eight other pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with shabu, a P500 marked bill, and P190 in different denominations.

Remorosa, meanwhile, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. Monday, April 15, in a drug bust conducted by the Siaton Police Station personnel in Barangay 1.

Confiscated from her were two pieces of heat-sealed sachets of shabu and a P500 marked money.

Remorosa sold the sachet to an undercover operative.

Both suspects are now detained and appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (PNA)
