Baguio cops ready for Holy Week

ACTING Baguio City Police Office Director Allen Rae Co expressed their readiness in implementing the peace and order and traffic plans for this year’s Holy Week activities.

Co said the traffic direction and control have been in place aside from safety plans for the tourists expected to come to the city for the Lenten break.

“Although Holy Week is a recurring event and what only changes is the number of visitors, our plans for the Holy Week on traffic safety and control have been in place,” Co said.

The acting city director explained police personnel have been deployed at churches, parks and markets and other places where visitors are expected to flock to assure their safety.

Co finished visiting 20 police stations in the city to know the present anti criminality measure being implemented by the different stations and is set visit to the 128 barangays of the city to coordinate with barangay officials.

Co, who was the head of the personnel office of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-Cor) for two years prior to his assignment as acting BCPO chief formally met with Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan to inform him of his plans on anti-criminality, traffic, and peace and order measures he will implement in the city.

Co took over the BCPO leadership following the relieve of Police Colonel Eliseo Tanding who is set to be assigned for another post in the PNP in line with the coming May 2019 midterm elections.
