TODAY, life has become more stressful and people feel that their coping abilities are deficient. The variety of stressors every day experienced by many like the competing priorities, hectic schedules, financial instability, and relationship issues can be a health risk to anyone.

Ergo, it is essential to find ways on how to manage stress in a healthy way. Let me share a few simple strategies to reduce stress.

Self-calming. Calming one’s self by focusing on one’s body physiology is essential. This can be applied by reversing one’s response to stress. Once a person is impacted by any strength, the tendency of the body is to respond by feeling exhausted and emotionally drained. If this negative response continues, it may lead to chronic stress. Instead of staying in this harmful state, it is best to visit a silent place and do meditation and reflection. Going to a place that brings you back to nature can also be helpful to calm one’s muscles and nerves.

Finding humor. Not everybody does this but it is an inexpensive stress buster. One may watch television shows that are funny and entertaining. Or spend time with a friend who is positive and appreciates life even with obstacles. Smiling is simply attracting positive vibes and so does laughing. Try also to learn to laugh from your mistakes and then learn from it. When a person is too critical of himself or herself, it creates more stress.

Spiritual healing. When one is too busy with his or her deadlines, preoccupied with worries and disturb with too many competitions, the tendency is to forget the need for spiritual healing. It is important to know that health is holistic and that people should not only nourish the physiological needs of the body but as well as the spiritual aspect.

Stress can be dealt in many ways but the strategy that heals the soul is the most effective. Connecting to God heals the body, mind, and soul. When one prays and consults God in anything, it ultimately brings energy to a person entirety.

While these strategies may be helpful or not helpful, reducing one’s stress is important to improve the quality of everyone’s life. But if one’s stress level rises and cannot be controlled, it is best seek professional help. These professionals can help people find other ways to minimize stress to prevent complications of unmanageable stress.
