A special birthday party for five-year-old Jia Lei Hughes, the second daughter of Gareth and Wawa, was held at the family residence in Talamban, Cebu City. Fun activities that day was the traditional pass-the-parcel game and an all-afternoon splish-splash at the pool. Having spent hours in the kitchen, Jia Lei’s mother Wawa and grandmother Zhang Gui Qin happily prepared an all-homemade Chinese dinner spread for guests to indulge themselves in. The celebrant herself chose an Ariel the Little Mermaid-themed cake complete with Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull from Angelica’s Bakery, together with matching delectable colored cupcakes on the side to go with that.
