Sustainability has become a highly popular term these days. Consumers have slowly become conscious of what they buy and use, all because of taking into consideration several socio-economic and environmental factors. They are patronizing brands because they know that these are manufacturing products in the most sustainable manner.
In Davao, a group of advocates, the Global Shapers Davao Community Hub, is taking the lead in organizing Unstitch: A Fashion and Sustainability Fair. This is the Southeast Asia event of the global initiative Shaping Fashion. This is aimed at scaling efforts on sustainable fashion with the help of the Global Shapers network all over the world.
In observance of Fashion Revolution, an Unstitch Pop-Up Shop is featuring several local brands that have been embracing sustainable fashion. Their products are up for grabs at the pocket garden of Lara Mia Cafe and Bistro on April 27 and 28 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Unstitch is an official Design Week Philippines event supported by the Philippine Women’s College Davao, Muni and AIESEC in Davao, and Smart Communications. Schedules of other events are posted in www.facebook.com/UnstitchPH/ and in Facebook.com/globalshapersdavaohub/.
If you want to shop with a purpose, you definitely need to visit the pop-up store during the two-day fair. For sure, you cannot get enough of what you can find there!
