Over P1M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in NegOcc drug busts

SUSPECTED shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,074,425 were seized in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental from April 16 to 19.

The biggest drug haul was made during an operation conducted in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on April 17, which resulted in the arrest of Christine Lim, 19; Erica Lim, 29; Hengie Ricarde, 22; and Renny Escobar, 32, all residents of the said village.

The four suspects, identified to be high-value targets, allegedly yielded about 50 grams of suspected shabu amounting to P606,000 in a buy-bust operation led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).

Authorities recovered from them 16 sachets of suspected shabu, the P1,000 marked money, digital weighing scale, two units of .38 caliber revolver, a .9mm caliber pistol loaded with three live ammunition, and a sling bag.

All four of them are detained at Police Station 3.

On the same day, three persons were also arrested in a drug bust in Barangay 1, this city which led to the confiscation of six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 12 grams worth P140,000.

Police identified the suspects as Riza Doctora, 49; and Marjoly Gabaleo, 23, both residents of the said village; and Ariel Achurra, 45, of Barangay 40.

The three suspects are detained at Police Station 2.

Also arrested in the city last Wednesday was Rodel Berjit, 44, of Barangay Handumanan after he allegedly sold a shabu to a police agent for P200.

Police recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu weighing one gram worth P12,000, pouch, and the P200 marked money.

Berjit, identified as a high-value target is detained at Police Station 10.

In Silay City, Reynold Dicto, 27, of Barangay 2 was arrested in Barangay Rizal last Wednesday after police seized from him two sachets of suspected shabu weighing four grams worth P60,000, drug paraphernalia, coin purse, pouch, P320 in cash, the P500 marked money, and P7,000 boodle money.

Dicto is under the targetlist of Silay City Police Station.

In Sagay City, Jerry Suanque, 53, of Barangay Paraiso was arrested at the said village after he allegedly yielded six sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, and the P500 marked money.

In a separate operation, Diony Arnado, 53, of Barangay Old Sagay, a newly-identified drug personality was arrested after police confiscated from him five sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,500, and the P500 marked money.

On April 18, Rodmark Chuan, 29, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested in Barangay Vista Alegre, this city after police recovered from them three sachets of suspected shabu worth P85,125, and two units of .45 caliber pistol with magazine.

Chuan is detained at Police Station 8 while the minor-suspect is under the custody of the Social Development Center.

The following day, Gerald Mirasol was arrested in Barangay Banago after he allegedly yielded two sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams worth P75,000, the P200 marked money, drug paraphernalia. He is detained at Police Station 3.

On April 16, Aisah Cali, 50, a native of Cavite province was arrested in a public market in Barangay 4, San Carlos City after she was allegedly caught in possession of a suspected shabu.

The operation resulted to the recovery of two sachets of suspected shabu worth P60,000, cellular phone, Identification card, and P1,000 in cash, including the P100 marked money.

Also arrested last Tuesday in Bacolod City was Dionel Paunillo Jr., 30, of Barangay Villamonte, a newly-identified drug personality.

Authorities recovered from him four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.7 grams worth P20,8000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse. He is detained at Police Station 4.

In Bago City, 42-year-old Willy Mel Paclipan was arrested on the same day in Barangay Poblacion which resulted to the recovery of three sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,000, the P200 marked money, and P165 in cash.

Paclipan was previously arrested for the same offense but was released in jail due to plea bargaining.

In Victorias City, Christian Eñosa, 22, and Genelyn Gonzaga, 21, both residents of Barangay 13 were arrested last Tuesday at the said village for alleged sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.

Both are newly-identified drug personalities.

Police seized from them four sachets of suspected shabu weighing three grams worth P5,000, drug paraphernalia, coin purse, the P400 marked money, and P650 in cash.
