THE Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa is a charming resort in Nusa Dua, Bali that highlights the beauty of Balinese culture.

Whether it is the details of their decor, architecture, service, or food, the hotel allows guests to fall in love with the Balinese culture.

After spending the morning with the elephants and spending the afternoon at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, I really needed to get a rest or a massage. Luckily, it was now my turn to have a massage at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa.

Before going to our rooms, my roommate and I were ushered to the Nusa Dua Spa. The Balinese massage we had was relaxing and relieved our tired muscles.

We stayed in a Deluxe room for our stay at the resort. The room was quite big and was well appointed with the basic amenities you may need. The bathroom also has a bathtub, which got me excited. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of time to lounge at the tub.

What I really loved about our stay here was the dinner prepared by the resort for the members of the media coming from Mindanao and Visayas.

The resort has prepared a delicious menu of Balinese and Indonesian dishes.

Our dinner started with an amuse bouche of Udang Pantung Megulung. It is lobster asem manis with tomato, cucumber, sambel terasi mayonnaise rolled with rice paper.

For appetizers, we were served Kripik Bayam (Spinach cracker with chili dipping sauce), Gorengan Soroh (Sweet corn fritters, potato patties, crispy bean curd), Lawar Kelungah Sareng Udang Mepaggang (Salad of young coconut shell with grilled king prawn), Ulam Ayam Mesitsit (Shredded Chicken with chili and lime sambal), Gado-gado (steamed vegetables roll with honey peanut dressing), and Be Pasih Mepanggang (pan-fried snapper with Sambal Matah).

Our soup was Ares Bebek, which is simmered duck with banana broth.

For the main course, they served us Ayam Betutu (duck marinated in a blend of spices), Ulam Kambing Mepanggang (grilled lamb cutlet with a blend of galangal, turmeric, lemongrass, and candlenut sauce with Lawar kacang), Be Salem Mepanggang (grilled salmon steak with sambel Rajang and Jukut urap), Tambusan Tahu sareng Tempe Bali (Baked tofu and bean curd with turmeric, chili, and coconut milk sauce), and Nasi Goreng Base Bali (Balinese spices fried rice with prawn, squid, snapper, and egg).

On the table for dessert were Dadar Gulung (Pandan leaf pancakes with jackfruit and palm sugar filling served with honey ginger ice cream), Pisang Rai (Poached bananas in coconut batter with honey and black rice ice cream), Buah-buahan Sugar (Fresh fruits with coconut sorbet), Rayunan Penyineb Bali Sane Kasub (a selection of Balinese desserts), and Balinese petit four.

In my eyes and heart, all were delicious! I could not stop eating! I just went from one dish to another. However, we can't have a show without stars.

The Sweet Corn Fritters and Ulam Ayam Mesitsit were the stars of the appetizer.

For the main course, it was the Ayam Betutu and Ulam Kambing Mepanggang that I really enjoyed. As someone who loves fried rice, I really want to keep on eating the Nasi Goreng Base Bali but I have to leave some space for dessert. The fried rice was really good.

For desserts, I love all of it! However, the ones that I kept coming back for was the Dadar Gulang and a Balinese dessert that looks like a pancake filled with bean curd.

After the delicious dinner, I was already excited for breakfast at the Wedang Jahe restaurant.

I also did a quick exploration of the resort grounds prior to having breakfast the following day. The resort features a big pool near the beach. There is also a path separating the beach and the resort and served as a jogging track for guests at the resort and other neighboring resorts.

After my quick exploration, I proceeded to the restaurant for breakfast. The buffet did not disappoint when it comes to the variety of dishes you can choose from. There were both Asian and Western dishes that you can have for breakfast.

Spending the night at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa not only gave me a good night's rest but it also kept my tummy happy the whole time we were here.
