6 NegOcc police stations commended

SIX police stations in Negros Occidental were recognized Monday, April 22, for their various accomplishments in the campaign against criminalities and illegal activities during the first quarter of the year.

Top performing police stations on the campaign against illegal drugs were San Carlos City Police Station and Manapla Municipal Police Station.

Kabankalan City Police Station and Murcia Municipal Police Station topped all other police stations in the campaign against wanted persons.

Police stations in Silay City and Salvador Benedicto town were recognized for their efforts in the campaign against loose firearms.

The Pagkilala awarding rites was held at Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) headquarters at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.

Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, director of Nocppo, said the Pagkilala award is a way to boost the morale and welfare of the policemen in their efforts to fight criminalities in the province.

“This is to give them more encouragement to continue their efforts,” he added.

Baleros said Manapla Municipal Police Station was commended for the neutralization of a suspected drug lord and three of his companions in a drug bust at the town on March 18.

The municipal law enforcers also received a cash incentive from Nocppo during the awarding rites.

“They risk their lives against armed and dangerous members of a drug syndicate in the town,” Baleros said.
