Junjun Osmeña worth P41M, ‘richest’ among Cebu City 12 dads

REAL properties such as house and land and personal properties such as cars, jewelry, cash in banks and shares in business investments made some Cebu City councilors rich in assets, their statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) for 2018 showed.

Of the 12 councilors who submitted their SALN so far, Councilor Renato “Junjun” Osmeña Jr. had the biggest net worth at P41,339,409.51.

He reported total assets of P42,870,000 which include personal properties such as luxury cars and motorcycles, jewelry, business shares, cash in bank and a house and lot.

His liability amounting to P1,530,590.49 includes two separate bank loans.

In 2017, Junjun Osmeña also had the highest net worth, at P39.1 million.

He serves as chief executive officer of a transport service, as president of a general merchandise company, and as board member of two advertising companies.

James Anthony Cuenco reported a net worth of P17,920,000, which included a house and lot in Quezon City worth P7 million.

His personal properties include a Mercedes Benz worth P2.9 million and a Mitsubishi Montero worth P1.5 million, appliances, gadgets, jewelry worth P1 million and P6.4 million cash on hand.

His liability includes a car loan worth P900,000.

Sisinio Andales declared a net worth of P8,645,000.

He declared assets of P9.1 million covering a house and lot, agricultural lot, two vehicles, furniture, jewelry and cash in bank.

He declared his liabilities at P540,000.

Eugenio Gabuya Jr. declared a net worth of P6.8 million and another $8,000 with assets amounting to P8.4 million and liabilities worth P1.6 million.

Alvin Arcilla declared a net worth of P5.5 million with assets worth P5.7 million and liabilities worth P200,000.

Jocelyn Pesquera declared a net worth of P5.3 million with assets amounting to P7.4 million and liabilities worth P2 million.

Pastor Alcover Jr. declared a net worth of P5 million with assets worth P5.6 million and liabilities worth P629,000.

Jerry Guardo declared a net worth of P5 million with assets amounting to P11 million and liabilities worth P6 million.

Jose Daluz III declared a net worth of P2 million with assets worth P3.4 million and liabilities worth P1.4 million.

Eduardo Rama Jr. declared a net worth of P1.7 million with assets worth P2.6 million and liabilities worth P860,000.

Raymond Alvin Garcia declared a net worth of P1.4 million with assets worth P8.4 million and liabilities worth P6.9 million.

Joel Garganera declared a net worth of P671,000 with assets worth P1.5 million and liabilities worth P919,000.

As of Monday, April 22, the SALNs of Mayor Tomas Osmeña and his wife Councilor Margarita Osmeña, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, and Councilors Mary Ann de los Santos, Joy Young, Dave Tumulak and Jessica Resch were not available.

Under Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices Act and Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, elected officials are required to submit their SALNs every year to the Ombudsman by April 30. (RVC)
