Bacolod council awaits BCPO report on abduction of ex-cop

THE Bacolod City Council is waiting for the report of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on the abduction of a retired police officer in a hotel in the city on April 19.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said Tuesday, April 23, that they are still waiting for the result of the investigation of the BCPO led by Police Colonel Henry Biñas, officer-in-charge of BCPO.

“Every month, we required BCPO to submit its accomplishment report to determine the peace and order situation here,” he said.

In spite of the incident, Familiaran added that Bacolod City is still peaceful compared to other places in the country.

Familiaran noted that all incidents related to criminality are alarming.

“It’s very important to have a crime solution so our police should double their effort to solve this case,” Familiaran said.

Familiaran reminded the police to intensify their visibility patrol in various areas especially during night time.

“We should ensure the safety of our constituents and we also need the cooperation of everybody,” he said.

Familiaran urged the public to be vigilant and to report to the nearest police station the presence of suspicious persons within their barangay.
