SALATIEL Amit looks to bounce back from a defeat in Thailand as he takes on promising unbeaten prospect Jade Bornea in the main event of the Sanman Promotions-promoted boxing show “Brawl at the Mall 12” on April 30 at the Robinsons Place Atrium in General Santos City.
The 27-year-old Amit is in dire need of a huge win to make himself relevant in the super flyweight division. He is on a rough stretch in his career after losing four of his last five fights.
Amit, who fights out of the Wild Boxing Gym in Cebu City, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jakkrawut Majoogoen last January in Thailand.
The 23-year-old Bornea, on the other hand, is turning into one of the brightest young boxers from the Philippines. He won all three of his fights last year, knocking out both Macrea Gandionco and Alvin Bais, while beating Danrick Sumabong by unanimous decision.
Amit is 11-6-2 with eight knockouts, while Bornea is 13-0 with nine knockouts.
In the co-main event, Mike Plania slugs it out with Vicente Casido.
Plania is fresh from a unanimous decision win in the US against Juan Antonio Lopez, while Casido is eager to bounce back after losing back-to-back contests against Ponciano Remandiman and Paul Varona.
Plania holds a record of 19-1 with 10 knockouts, while Casido owns a 6-2-1 card with two knockouts. (EKA)
