FOR many frequent fliers transitioning or traveling to the Philippines, it is important for them to find a hotel that is near the airport.

Resorts World Manila (RWM), conveniently located across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, presently hosts seven hotels that will be able to cater to a host of travelers of different backgrounds.

During a recent visit to RWM for the Explore Media Tour, we spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City (HIEx Manila).

HIEx Manila will suit travelers who are spending a few nights or just transitioning Metro Manila. The superior rooms we were staying were well-furnished with just about anything the traveler needs.

My room was a double bed superior room. I find the room’s design and feel to be very homey. The moment I saw the beds, I was ready to crash for the night.

At the far end of my room was a work desk. Beside it was the minibar, safe, and heater on the side. Across the table was a lounge chair.

What I love about my room was the view of airplanes taking off from NAIA. As someone who loves to plane spot, the sights of planes taking off was such a treat.

The best part of the room was the bed and the pillows, which were so comfortable to sleep on. It was also hard leaving the bed in the morning. My sleep here was also made more comfortable because of how dark the room is when the lights are off; thanks to the blackout shades. Being alone in the room, I also put the air conditioning unit at its coolest setting. One of the best sleeping conditions I had in a long time.

The breakfast at the hotel was pretty straightforward. Their no-frills breakfast buffet spread featured just about what you would need for a filling meal. There were cereals, pastries, fruits, and regular breakfast dishes like hotdogs and eggs. I also like the self-service station for coffee and beverages.

It was a pleasant and comfortable two-night stay at HIEx Manila. I like how its rooms are well-appointed to cater to the general needs of travelers. If you are looking for somewhere to stay near the airport, I would recommend HIEx.
