Pulupandan mayor slay suspect killed in police ops

ONE of the primary suspects of Pulupandan mayor's slay in 2010 was killed after he allegedly resisted arrest from policemen during the service of arrest warrant in Barangay Tambunak, Dingle, Iloilo Province early Wednesday.

Joint operatives of the Provincial Special Operations Group and Dingle Municipal Police Station were supposed to serve an arrest warrant with no bail for murder against Rammy Enojo on Wednesday, April 24.

Enojo reportedly noticed the authorities from afar and allegedly fired at them, prompting them to retaliate. He was rushed to a hospital, but did not make it alive.

Police recovered from the scene a hand grenade, a .38 caliber revolver, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Based on the report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, Enojo was one of the most wanted persons in Iloilo Province and also allegedly one of the primary suspects behind the killing of Pulupandan Mayor Luis Mondia Jr. in front of Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo City in February 2010.

He has been tagged in several gun-for-hire activities and robbery incidents in cohorts with Magno and Matillano crime gangs in Dingle town and nearby areas.
