THE Philippine National Police (PNP) welcomed on Thursday, April 25, a total of 138 new commissioned police officers who graduated from the PNP Academy last March.

The 138 newly appointed commissioned officers received their badge of honors from PNP officials in a ceremony in Camp Crame.

PNP chief Oscar Albayalde pinned that of Lieutenant Jervis Allen Ramos, the valedictorian of the PNPA “Sansiklab” class of 2019.

Albayalde reminded the 138 new police officers not to tarnish their badges and the PNP.

"Well una (paalala ko sa kanila) sila ay magserbisyo ng maayos. Siguro doon sa sinabi natin kanina sa payo natin is for them to start their service right so that they end their service right also and ‘yung pagseserbisyo na i-uphold nila ‘yung batas and of course ‘yung pagre-respeto sa karapatang pantao,” he said in an interview with reporters.

(My advice to them is for them to serve diligently, uphold the law and respect human rights.)

“Ito kasi ang importante na kailangan malaman. Maisapuso ng ating mga kapulisan,” he added.

(This is what our police officers should take to heart.)

He said the new cops will be deployed initially on election duties prior to undergoing other police trainings including commando and basic internal security operations course.

“Sila ay mag-stay lang muna sa mga stations. Sila ang magma-man ng stations. They will serve as stay behind force. Hindi natin sila ide-deploy sa field dahil wala pang masyadong experience yan. Doon sila muna sa mga stations kasi made-deplete ‘yung manpower natin sa mga different stations dahil lahat yan ay nasa labas (during the election),” said Albayalde. (SunStar Philippines)
