Llenes passes polygraph test

AS POLICE Regional Office 7 Director Debold Sinas confirmed that blood found on a pair of scissors taken from Renato Llenes matched the DNA samples of Christine Lee Silawan’s parents, he also said Llenes passed a polygraph test.

This means that the suspect was not lying, according to Sinas.

Llenes earlier told police that he used the scissors to skin the face of the victim so she would not be easily identified.

Sinas said the Lapu-Lapu City Police investigators found the scissors in Llenes’s bag.

Forensic experts were able to find blood on the scissors’ broken handle. Llenes cleaned it with water from a deep well in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City.

Sinas said they are waiting for the DNA results of the suspect’s shirt and shoes.

The police official said they have a strong case against Llenes.

Also, the polygraph test on Llenes showed that the suspect did not lie.

The suspect earlier had a psychological evaluation conducted at the Center for Behavioral Sciences in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. Chief psychiatrist Dr. Rene Obra determined that he was in good mental health.

The tests were conducted with permisson from Llenes and his lawyer Manuel Degolacion.

Sinas said the result of the polygraph test is inadmissable as evidence, but the investigators would endorse it to the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor’s Office.

“After the exam, it was found out that there was no deception and that he was telling the truth,” he said.

The police official said he is not worried that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 has another DNA test result that incriminates another suspect, Silawan’s ex-boyfriend.

He said the investigating prosecutor’s job is to weigh the evidence presented by the police and NBI 7.

Meanwhile, a witness who testified that he saw Llenes at the deep well after drinking from a roadside store was harassed by armed men.

Sinas said they are investigating this incident to identify the culprits. (From AYB of SuperBalita Cebu, KAL)
