Jaro, Iloilo traffic scheme reset to May

THE Iloilo City Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) has rescheduled to May the conduct of traffic experimentation for private vehicles passing along McArthur Drive, Tabuc Suba in Jaro district.

PSTMO head Jeck Conlu said they are still preparing how to make the experimentation more conducive and effective to all commuters and residents of affected areas.

Conlu noted the City Council has approved the resolution for the traffic experimentation.

"If you can notice, traffic congestion starts exactly on the intersection near the bridge. We will remove the left turns and cross signages going to San Isidro and Tabuc Suba, Jaro and will be transferred to the next intersection," Conlu said.

There will be No Left Turn from Mc Arthur Drive going to Cubay – Balabago from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during weekdays.

Private vehicles from Leganes via Mc Arthur Drive going to Balabago Road, Tabuc Suba will take the Balabago-Cubay Road as alternative route.

There will No Left Turn for vehicles bound for Jaro Plaza from Cubay-Balabago Area.

There will be no U-Turn in front of Jollibee-Tabuc Suba.

“This experimentation will help decongest and give a better approach to the bridge,” Conlu said.

PSTMO personnel will conduct an information drive for the concerned communities affected.

“The cooperation and understanding of everyone will be much appreciated, and hopefully we can improve the traffic situation in the area so we can all benefit from this experimentation,” Conlu said. (PR)
