Talks with GSIS set

BAGUIO Representative Mark Go is poised to convince the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) to partner with the City Government.

Go said a scheduled meeting with GSIS President Jesus Clint Aranas is set on May 20.

"We had initial talk with him during one of our meetings in Congress last year," Go said, adding the meeting will be on the possibility of using or leasing, or whatever acceptable arrangement for GSIS properties in the city.

The representative said the GSIS property in front of Baguio Water District is eyed for city's parking and other requirements.

Earlier, Councilor Maylen Yaranon had asked President Rodrigo Duterte to help Baguio City acquire the idle GSIS property at PNR which the city cannot afford.

Yaranon is eyeing the idle lot owned by the GSIS located at DPS-Marcoville Barangay to be utilized as a central bus terminal, relocating the central bus terminal from Gov. Pack Road to make the traffic flow smooth at the former road and will make the GSIS lot productive.
