THE bounty for the arrest of the perpetrators in the ambush and killing of the two members of the Garcia family in Moises Padilla is now P2 million.
Love-Negros which is led by Third District Rep. Alfredo Benitez offers additional P1 million reward for the arrest of the assailants of Moises Padilla Councilor Jose Antonio “Michael” Garcia and his uncle, Jose Marcelino “Mark” Garcia.
“It’s too much,” Benitez described the killings of the two.
Benitez said that Comelec should immediately put Moises Padilla under Comelec control for such violence could be politically motivated.
The law enforcement agencies like the Army and the PNP should also immediately move to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the killings.
“Putting the area under Comelec control should be immediate so that further violence will not escalate in the area,” Benitez said.
He said that he has received information that the killing of the two members of the Garcia family was a collateral damage to the failed ambush against incumbent Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo who is running for mayor in the May 13 elections.
SB Michael and former ABC president Mark Garcia are nephew and brother of the vice mayor.
Governor Alfredo Maranon who immediately proceeded to Moises Padilla when he learned of the killing, Thursday, offered P1 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
On the part of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Board Member David Albert Lacson who is chair of the committee on peace and order, said that he will move that the SP would offer for an additional reward to arrest the perpetrators of the killings.
“I would also like to appeal to everyone to keep the coming election peaceful. Let us give the people a chance to vote peacefully and politicians should not threaten the voters so that they could freely exercise their right of suffrage,” he added.
