KAPIN sa 18,000 nga trabaho ang tanyag sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Central Visayas alang sa mga nangita og trabaho diin mahitabo kini karong umaabot Labor Day, Mayo 1.
Ang upat ka mga nagkadaiyang local and overseas jobs fair dungan kini nga pagahimuon alang sa ika-117 nga Labor Day celebration sa rehiyon.
Sumatotal aduna’y 18,889 ka trabaho ang mamahimong aplayan sa mga nangita.
Matod ni DOLE 7 director Salome Siaton nga sa SM City Cebu ang main venue sa jobs fair.
Alang sa lokal nga trabaho aduna’y 6,898 ang bakante diin 2,000 niini ang nangita og customer service representatives nga mao’y labing in- demand nga trabaho.
Lakip sa posisyon nga gipangita ang sastre,, cashiers, sales clerks ug registered nurses.
Samtang moabot sa 11,991 ang overseas employment nga gipangita diin 4,518 niini alang sa factory workers.
Nanguta usab ang pipila ka kompanya og skilled workers, nurses, cleaners, ug laborers alang sa gawas sa nasod.
“Although the May 1 Job Fairs would not be depicting a very comprehensive and holistic picture of what skills in Region-7 are actually needed by employers, but because of them, we found out that of the in-demand jobs reflected, the common skill needed not only here but also outside the country is that of nurses,” si Siaton nagkanayon.
Gibutyag niini nga aduna’y 211 ka nurses ang gipangita sa lokal ug 3,251 abroad, ilabi na sa mga nasod sa Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Bahrain ug Kuwait ang nangita niini.
Gawas sa SM City Cebu, himuon ang laing tulo ka jobs fair sa Cebu Provincial Capitol, Mandaue City Sports Complex ug Main Atrium, Robinson’s Place sa siyudad sa Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. (HBL)
