Pampanga newsmen mourn Levy Laus’ ‘untimely demise’

CLARK FREEPORT -- Officers and members of the oldest and grandest news organization in Luzon are mourning the death of businessman Liberato “Levy” Laus, who was killed in a helicopter crash in Malolos on Thursday.

Laus owned several media outfits in Pampanga.

“The Pampanga Press Club would like to extend its condolences to the family of an outstanding business leader and media colleague, Levy P. Laus. His untimely demise is a big loss to the media industry,” the newsmen group stated.

The PPC added that “Mr. Laus will be remembered as the man who revitalized media with trailblazing efforts in local television, radio, and print while elevating the standards to a level worthy of national recognition.”

The local newsmen added that Laus has always been a true friend to media practitioners, opening not just his doors but also his heart to any individual and collective concern affecting the industry.

“While he may have been in the media ownership and management, he had always identified himself as one of us,” the PPC said.

“With much sympathy for the family, we mourn one great loss.”
