Pangan: All about Councilor Joseph Alfie Bonifacio

COUNCILOR Joseph Alfie Torres Bonifacio was born on February 4, 1973.

Bucking the usual joke that those born in February were kulang

kulang, he said in jest that what he lacked in days, he compensated it with brains or talino.

Physically huge by Filipino standards- he stands at 6 feet, this gentle dentist-councilor is amiable and approachable and is very accommodating especially to the marginalized sector who calls on him for free extraction services and dentures.

A product of the University of the East Manila like his wife Michelle and a fellow student in Dentistry thereat, Doc Bonifacio obtained also law degree at Harvardian Colleges and an M.A. in Education at the same institution.

He has dental clinics at the second floor of Hub Mart Building, Teodoro Street, Balibago, Angeles City and a branch at 787 Seaoil Gas Station, Quirino Highway, Gulod, Novaliches.

Doc Alfie was first elected Angeles City Councilor in May 2010 and then again in May 2013 up to July 2019. He is, therefore, running for his 3rd term on May 13, 2019.

Aside from his legislative duties, he has handled enterprises like Gold Miles Fuels, Inc., (Seaoil Gas Station), Norway Enterprises, Aguanueva Corp. and Bonifacio Dental Foundation Center, Inc.

He has authored several ordinances and resolutions foremost of which are: grant of free movies to senior citizens and persons with disabilities, the local health ID system for public medical institutions, charter of the City College of Angeles City, Renal Care Unit of Angeles City, bringing down the penalty, from 10 percent to 5 percent of past due water services bills, the revision of the ordinance regulating the practice of all professions in Angeles City, the City Investment and Incentive Code of 2011, Revenue Code of Angeles City, Barangay Micro Business Enterprises and others.

Doc Alfie has received several citations like: a) Presidential

Service Award for Central Luzon from the Philippine Dental

Association; b) Most Outstanding Chapter on its Campaign Against Illegal Dentists given by the Philippine Dental Association;

c) Leadership award granted by the 2006-2007 PDA President Dr. Leticia Santos; d) Chapter CPE Provider award given by the Chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission; e) Major award for Day Care Adoption Project-National Level given by the Philippine Dental Association; f) Major award for Bright Smile, Bright Future Project given by the Philippine Dental Association and Colgate Palmolive Philippines; g) Service Award-Peace Officer granted by the President of the House of Delegates of Philippine Dental Association and h) Leadership Award granted by the President of the Metro Dental Society.

Doc Alfie is a member and affiliate of several groups, clubs, Institutions and organizations: NP, NPC, UE College of Dentistry, AUF Hospital, Harvardian Colleges International Association for Orthodontics, USA, Philippine Dental Association, Metro Angeles Dental Society, College of General Practitioners in Orthodontics, Philippine Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and others.

With all these citations and accomplishments, Doctor Joseph Alfie Bonifacio is a pride not only of the City Council of Angeles but of the whole city of Angeles and the country as well. He deserves to be voted upon for this third term at the City Council of Angeles.
