DAR-NegOcc gets commendation

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental – North was commended for immediately addressing the concern raised by a farmer-beneficiary through the government’s 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center.

An agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB), who was one of the farmers recently installed in a landholding situated at Barangay Mabini in Cadiz City, lauded the agency for responding to their problem.

In a letter forwarded to DAR-Negros Occidental Provincial Office, the Office of the President said the anonymous caller lodged at 8888 hotline their complaint on the then pending and long overdue installation of farmer-beneficiaries.

The certificates of land ownership award (Cloas) were already distributed in 2018 but ARBs, before the complaint was raised, are yet to be installed in the land previously owned by Bernadette Gustilo and others.

The complaint cited the lack of layout from the agency delayed the process.

DAR-Negros Occidental I, however, said there was a challenge on doing such mainly because of the resistance and lack of cooperation of the former landowners.

The ARB also lauded the “successful” implementation of the Citizens’ Complaint Center by the government. Through which, their concern was given due attention.

The Presidential Complaint Center (PCC), a front line desk in the Office of the President, serves as a liaison unit with various departments and agencies of the government and private institutions and companies on all requests for assistance, and information, as well as complaints and grievances of the general public.

It also aims to effectively bridge the delivery of services to the general public, as it strives to provide satisfactory conclusion to the needs of the public, through the most appropriate and efficient means available. (EPN)
