ADONES Aguelo and Melmark Dignos scored knockout wins last April 27, in the double-header of “Bakbakan sa Looc” at the Cabahug Gym in Looc, Mandaue City.
Aguelo walked away with a third- round stoppage after Richard Betos quit on his stool in their second rematch.
The 30-year-old Aguelo improved to 31-19-2 with 21 knockouts, while Betos, the former World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council (ABC) super bantamweight champion, dropped to 20-24-2 with seven knockouts.
Dignos, on the other hand, dropped battle-scarred veteran Rogen Flores twice en route to a second round stoppage in the 2:46 mark.
Dignos bounced back from loss in Macau and improved to 9-3 with a knockout, while Flores fell to 14-46-6 with seven knockouts.
In the undercard, Michael Adolfo (1-0) had a successful pro debut with a unanimous decision over Ryan Galas (0-10), while John Paul Gabonillas (1-0, 1 KO) stopped Argelo Samson (0-1) in the opening round. (EKA)
