District hospital eyed in Bacolod

HOUSE Bill 9079 that calls for the construction of Bacolod City District Hospital was filed in Congress by Bacolod City Lone District Congressman Greg Gasataya.

Gasataya, in a press statement, said that they are planning to build a modern district hospital in Bacolod.

He said the plan was already approved by Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the members of Grupo Progreso incumbent councilors.

“The mayor and I are in agreement that we give priority to the construction of a modern district hospital,” he added.

Gasataya noted that the funds of the proposed project will come from the National Government.

“It is high time that Bacolod will have its own hospital, one that will have state-of-the-art facilities and offers quality service to indigents and low income groups,” Gasataya said.

He said the hospital project and the delivery of health services are close to his heart, as he recounted the difficulties of his family encountered when his mother was then under medication.

“We all know that a big amount of budget is needed to run a hospital. That is why it will be a great help if it is created by law, thus, it gets its own annual budget,” Gasataya added.
