Sibugay police win CDM competition

THE Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) emerged as champion as they bested the other contingents in this year’s 2nd Regional Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) competition.

Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director Emmanuel Luis Licup said the competition is aimed at “testing the operational readiness, equipage, competency and capability of all PRO-9 CDM (Civil Disturbance Management) contingents in dealing with and responding to mass actions and public disturbance.”

Police Brigadier General Licup said the ZSPPO garnered a percentile score of 80.61 percent and has bested five other participating-contingents in the CDM competition held on Monday, April 29 in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The other contingents to the competition are Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office (ZDNPPO), Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9 (RMFB-9), and the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZDSPPO) aside from the ZSPPO.

Licup said the ZCPO has been adjudged as the 1st Runner-up with percentile score of 77.13 percent and ZDNPPO as 2nd Runner-up with 72.16 percent.

The RMFB-9, last year’s champion, fall to 4th place and bagged the best in uniform category.

The competition is composed of three phases, the 1st phase graded inspection which includes the completeness of CDM complement equipment, uniforms and support elements; 2nd phase demonstration by company-size complement of the eight basic CDM formation; and, 3rd phase problem-based scenarios requiring the participants to solve and apply appropriate formation and procedures.
