THE Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) has lined up programs on disaster preparedness following the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that killed 15 and injuring residents in Pampanga.
This was learned from CILA chairman Irineo “Bong” Alvaro Jr. when he met with officers and members of the Capampangan in Media Incorporated (CAMI) in Clark Freeport last Friday.
“Sa amin pong bahagi, sa Clark Investors and Locators Association, nagla-line up po kami ng programa ngayon na nakatuon sa kahandaan sa mga sakuna,” Alvaro said.
What happened in some parts of Pampanga, including the collapse of Chuzon Grocery in Porac town, is a wake-up call, the business leader added.
“This is a wake-up call to all of us. It could happen anytime na hindi natin inaasahan kagaya ng paglindol na yun,” Alvaro said.
The business association in Clark will conduct a series of fora in connection with disaster preparedness, he added.
Alvaro said CILA is committed to help the government in its disaster mitigation programs.
“Makakaasa po kayo na in few weeks or month, magkakaroon ng series of fora at mga bagay bagay na gagawin ng CILA para sa kahandaan po. Tutulong po kami sa mga government agencies para sa mga paghahanda sa mga sakuna,” he said.
The CILA officer said that he was inspecting the ongoing construction of MIREJ Hotel, the firm’s newest project in Clark, when the tremor hit some parts of Central Luzon.
The hotel will be opened in October this year, according to Alvaro.
