Mambukal Resort sales reaches over P1.7M during Holy Week

MAMBUKAL Mountain Resort, one of the tourist destinations in Negros Occidental, has bigger sales during Holy Week pegged at P1,777,225.

Based on the report of Mambukal office, during Holy Thursday, the total revenue from charges for cottages, swimming pool fees and other facilities reached P271,200, entrance fees reached P144,770 and number of visitors were recorded at 3,986.

During Good Friday, total revenue was pegged at P235,455, entrance fee at P130,800 and number of visitors at 3,602.

On Black Saturday, the total revenue was P267,745, entrance fee reached P138,090, and number of visitors at 3,803, while during Easter Sunday, the total revenue was pegged at P401,105, entrance fee at P188,060 and number of visitors reached 5,180.

Lucille Gelvolea, acting provincial administrator, said local tourists trooped to Mambukal for reflection, relaxation and family bonding. They stayed at Mambukal Resort during the Lenten weekend.

"Mambukal has the dipping pool, spa and other unique features that lures the tourists," Gelvolea said, adding that Mambukal Resort is fully booked almost whole year round.

Mambukal is owned and operated by the Provincial Government.

Gelvolea also said that the Mambukal Convention Hotel will soon operate, as it has already been completed and will be officially turned over soon to the Provincial Government.
