THE staging of the 40th Pasalamat festival in La Carlota City last April 22-28 was a resounding success as it was their means to express gratitude to God Almighty for all the blessings the city and its beloved people have enjoyed sans the challenges.

Mayor Luis Jalandoni III and his fellow city officials with Fourth District Representative Juliet Marie Ferrer and husband former Fourth District representative Jeffrey P. Ferrer and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and several other guests led the opening of this year's festival.

The Pasalamat festival is a tradition of thanksgiving among its people after a bountiful harvest. And they expressed it with the staging of the Mardi Gras showcasing the parade of floats and caricatures, combined with the snappy and danceable rhythm and drum beating.

Mayor Jalandoni and the rest of the city officials were very thankful of the success of the festival where people and other tourists enjoyed the week-long celebration.

This year's theme is "Uniting people for a vision."

The weeklong activities include fireworks display, Zumba fitness party, Agro-Trade fair and exhibits, Pawasak, job fair, livelihood and skill competition, the Luis Jalandoni Jr. Pasalamat Rhythm competition, Awit - Sayaw XVI grand finals, dog walk, mountain bike urban circuit challenge, search for the Pasalamat festival queen 2019, the 2019 festival dance and float parade arena dance competition and party at the park.
