PNP names 2 new deputies for Zamboanga Peninsula

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has assigned two new deputies to the Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula following the retirement and reassignment last month of its two senior officers.

They are Police Colonel Ronaldo Llanera, who was named as the new deputy regional director for administration (DRDA) and Police Colonel John Guyguyon as the new deputy regional director for operations (DRDO).

Police Major Helen Galvez, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said that Llanera, a native of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, assumed office as the new DRDA on April 20 replacing Police Brigadier General Edwin De Ocampo, who retired from service on the same date.

Galvez said Llanera was the DRDO and regional chief directorial staff (RCDS) of the PRO-Central Luzon from 2016-2019.

The earlier assignments Llanera were in PRO-Davao as regional chief of operations, chief regional community affairs development division and provincial director of Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office.

Llanera is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy’s (PNPA) Tagapagtaguyod Class of 1988. He is a classmate of Police Colonel Narciso Verdadero, the former DRDO of PRO9.

Guyguyon was installed as the new DRDO replacing Verdadero, who was reassigned to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters.

Galvez said Guyguyon, a native of Kiangan, Ifugao, is a member of PNPA Tagapagkalinga Class of 1991.

His previous assignments were as Provincial Director of Lanao del Sur Provincial Office during the Marawi Siege and in Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office as Acting Provincial Director.

He was the chief of staff and later on as deputy director for operations of the PNP Aviation Security Group.

He was also assigned with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group as chief of anti-transnational crime unit, and held other various other positions.

The new assignment of the two senior officers has been approved by Police General Oscar Albayalde, the PNP chief, upon the recommendations of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board of the PNP. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
