Erwin's personal recuerdos in life

A FORMER journalist, who is now a successful Public Relations consultant of a Mindanao-based power and real estate firm, has turned into an attraction things that others consider as worthless.

"I would always like to be reminded of my humble beginnings through these collections. Most of these things were used by my father, Edgardo, and which are commonly used in rural areas even up to this time," said Erwin Ambo Delilan.

He is always away from home for work and when he is home in Barangay Alecante, E.B. Magalona, Delilan said he would always rearrange his collections, surprising his wife Jaazel, a principal of Tanza Elementary School.

His collections all came from his birthplace in Barangay Cudangdang, said Delilan.

"Whenever we have visitors at the house, my collections would always wow them. They then would realize how useful and artistic these simple things are," he said.

He said he just cleaned these pieces and have them varnished.

"I always wanted to reconnect with my childhood and be reminded of where I came from. It makes me a complete person. Some people, especially the millennials, may no longer appreciate them but these are precious and valuable pieces for me," Delilan added.
