Media group donates books, meds to Abra

SOME 23,899 assorted brand new books, including medical supplies, will be donated by the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC) to Abra.

The books, sourced through the Children International Phil. Inc. with the help of the University of the Cordilleras Project H.E.L.E.N, will be distributed to the different public elementary and high schools in the different parts of Abra.

BCBC president Dhobie de Guzman said aside from the book donation, the group will also give out P1 million worth of medical supplies in the province on July 7.

De Guzman added the books are K to 12 compliant which can augment the province’s lack of K to 12 materials.

“We are very thankful to those who helped us in this endeavor as it will mean a lot not only to the schools but most especially to the children who will benefit from these books,” De Guzman said.

Aside from the book donation, Cordillera’s largest media organization will also conduct a hand washing demo in Dolores town where the group is set to donate 500 pairs of shoes, also sourced out by Project H.E.L.E.N.

“These books will be turned over to Abra and they will be the one facilitating the distribution through the Department of Education in the province,” added de Guzman.
