Vicente: Filipino martial arts fellowship

JUST recently, the 5th Philippine Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2019 (PMAHOF) staged its first successful event without founder Garitony “Punong Lakan” Nicolas but with him looking through the windows of heaven.

Nicolas is sure proud on how the PMAHOF turned out to be a success under his heir, Mizha Nicolas De Guzman, silencing critics and doubters.

The event proved to have established its credibility and developed a strong bond amongst the participants. This year, Australia, United States, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Palestine, India, Singapore, and Hongkong were represented and according to Susan Murton, the PMAHOF International Coordinator, they are eyeing more as this time, some of the country directors have cancelled due to important matters to attend to, but have pledged to make it next time bringing their own delegation.

The event is not just about the awards but a chance to be with fellow Filipino Martial Artists.

The fellowship of Filipino Martial Artists is one way of promoting the cultural heritage of the Philippines and its people, the Filipino Martial Arts of Arnis - the Philippine National Martial Arts and Sports is highlighted and well propagated by recognizing people and or organizations who are instrumental to its growth and development, it is also a proud showcase of patriotism for Filipinos to share the Martial Arts that is Filipino.

To all the inductees to the respective awards during the Gala Night to include those who were there just to attend the said awards night, to the participants of the International tournament in Anyo, (forms) Labanan (Full-contact sparring), Arkibos, Sinawali and Knife Fighting and to all those who attended and participated in the International Seminar Workshop of the Masters, congratulations for being part of history!
