Fasta Pasta

Fasta Pasta a few years back was but a small, humble booth space in Roxas Night Market just where Mang Danny ice cream is currently located. I first heard about it from a friend who is very good hunting down affordable yet delicious meals around the city. The first time we were there I tried out their Seafood Marinara.

First impression: for something that costs less than P100, they are very generous with their ingredients. The serving is just right. They do not make you feel like you’re really on a tight budget. Plus, they have pasta and other food selections that are not dull and bring out their creativity.

For my next visit with a few of my officemates, I tried the Chili Con Pasta. For someone not into very spicy food, I appreciate this meal.

Many of their loyal customers were saddened when they no longer served food at the night market. This was immediately remedied when they found a space at Bonifacio St. just fronting Comedor – only a few meters from the University of Immaculate Conception. Because of this, plus the quality and affordability of their food, word of mouth about Fasta Pasta spread to Dabawenyos. The new shop was always filled with people and it became harder to find a seat without first waiting for others to finish. So even if I was a fan of Fasta Pasta, I never really tried eating at their Bonifacio branch.

But good news again because Fasta Pasta opened a new branch much nearer to our office now. The newest Fasta Pasta branch is along Jacinto St., just at the back of Ateneo de Davao University. I’m not sure if only a few people discovered the second branch of Fasta Pasta yet but whenever I pass by, there’s always a vacant seat to accommodate the customers.

All their offered meals are below P100. Customers can choose from their pasta selections of Carbonara, Bolognese, Pinoy Spaghetti, Chili Pasta, Meatballs Marinara, Seafoods Marinara, Plain Marinara, Chili Con Pasta, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parmesan, and Creamy Tuna Alfredo. Everything sounds yum, right! Wait ‘till you taste them.

Aside from pasta, they also have rice meals like Buffalo Wings, Chicken Tenders, Pork or Chicken Katsudon, Grilled Pork Chop, Grilled Tuna, Pan-grilled chicken, and Baby Back Ribs. Their side dishes include Nachos, Poutine, Caesar Salad, and Herbed Baby Potatoes.

Fasta Pasta is open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. They can be reached through 286-4403 for orders.
