THE Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Bacolod City Task Force Clean and Green, the Department of Public Services and concerned citizens are asked to help assist the local candidates and representatives of national candidates in pulling out their campaign materials and billboards and cleaning up of poster areas right after the May 13, 2019 elections.
This was proposed by Councilor Sonya Verdeflor and the same was passed by the City Council of Bacolod during the conduct of their regular session on Thursday, May2.
The said campaign materials are mostly made of non-biodegradable plastics, tarpaulin and paper, which if left uncollected after the May 13, 2019 elections, would result to huge piles of garbage that would block our city’s drainage and cause flooding all over the city once the rainy seasons start.
It is urgent that Bacolodnons get involved and help clean-up our city from campaign materials right after election day to be spearheaded by the city’s DRRMO, DPS and Task Force Clean and Green.
