The survey revealed that net satisfaction of the Duterte administration also improved by one grade to "excellent" from "very good" among men (+73 from +69) and women (+71 from +64), as well as among age groups 18 to 24 (+80 from +64), 35 to 44 (+75 from +67), and 45 to 54 (+75 from +68).

The Duterte government obtained "moderate" score on fighting inflation (+22).

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the Palace was "pleased" with the poll results which showed the "highest rating received by any administration since the polling firm started such survey in February 1989."

Panelo added that the Duterte government was glad that the Filipino people appreciate its efforts in implementing reforms to improve their lives.

"The efforts of this administration in serving the nation and the Filipinos are starting to bear fruit," he said on Saturday, May 4.

Panelo likewise stressed that the "towering" satisfaction in favor of the current administration's hardships and attainments is "a hard slap on the face of the opposition and our detractors who, from day one, never gave the leadership of President Duterte a chance to show them his competence in administering the nation's affairs."

"While they continue with their political offensives against us, we endlessly grind for our nation's interests and betterment. And as we have repeatedly said, they can always do their worst and we will do our best," the Palace official said.

"We reiterate our call to them to wake up from their stupor and instead of unleashing negative forces against the government they should contribute to the building of our nation lest they be crushed by the stallions of change galloping across the land," he added.

The SWS interviewed 1,440 adult Filipinos for the survey, using sampling error margins of ±2.6 percentage points for national percentages, and ±5 percentage points each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. (SunStar Philippines)
