A new addition to the growing number of hostels in Cebu City is HappyNest Hostel Cebu. It promises a premium stay at a low price, without it feeling so cheap. This hole-in-the-wall dwelling is on Lapu Lapu St., Cebu City, a prime location surrounded by cultural and historical sights of the city, and a five-minute walking distance away from Pier 1.
It provides mixed gender rooms made with bunk beds that can accommodate four to eight people. An all-female room is also available. An overnight stay is inclusive of amenities like bedside light and outlet, internet connection as well as lockers to store one’s valuables, to name a few. More than the overall aesthetic fashioned like a modern tropical living space, it prides itself in giving its guests a shared space yet still has that room for privacy, like its well-thought of division of the men and women’s bathrooms, for instance.
The place also offers Filipino fare and serves all-day breakfast.
HappyNest opened in Feb. 15 by founders Klyde Chua, Ivan Wesley Chua, Paul Andrew Co and Christopher Leo Co. The inspiration to put up a hostel came about from seeing the potential of the market, coupled by their intent in encouraging potential guests—tourists, most especially locals—with the beauty of staying at a shared living space spruced up with premium touches at a budget-friendly price. Also, HappyNest becomes a venue for guests to meet new friends from all walks of life in one homey—and happy—environment.
