MANILA -- Inspired by its 81-70 win over Fern-C two days ago, AddMix shoots for its second straight win when it collides with Ascof-Lagundi today in the 2010 PBL PG Flex-Erase Placenta Cup at The Arena in San Juan.

With former Philippine Christian University standout Lizstian Amparado at the helm, the AddMix Transformers of coach Leo Austria bounced back from a stinging 77-81 loss to Cobra Energy Drink in the opener last Feb. 16.

“It's good that we learned a lesson from our tough loss against Cobra last week. I just hope we can sustain the momentum we gained from this victory,” said Austria, who steered Welcoat Paints to a title sweep in 2002. “But we have to play a lot smarter and tougher against Ascof Lagundi.”

Fern-C and Pharex B Complex meet at 4 p.m. with the Ferntastics of coach Bal David out to end a two-game winning run. Pharex B Complex holds a 1-1 record.

The Ascof Lagundi Cough Busters suffered a heart-breaking 87-88 defeat to Cossack Blue also last Tuesday.

The win enabled Cossack Blue to get abreast with Excelroof and Cobra Energy Drink with similar 2-0 records.

Aside from Amparado, who sizzled for 19 points, including 9 in the payoff period, Austria hopes to get another decent numbers from Jan Colina and Gio Circiacruz.

Colina, who plays for Austria’s Adamson squad in the UAAP, chipped in 14 points while Ciriacruz, the star forward of Arellano University, had eight points and 10 rebounds.

To register their first win, Ascof Lagundi coach Carlo Tan must draw the best out of San Beda’s Bam Gamalinda and Von Lanete and veteran JR Gerilla.

The Ferntastics must play aggressively on the defensive end and shoot well from afar to likewise snap a two-game losing run. (PR)
