OUR trip to Bali, Indonesia ended on a gastronomic high when we had our last night at the newly opened Anvaya Beach Resort.

I just love how the resort wows you as you enter the property. Greeting guests at the entrance to the lobby is this beautiful pond with stacked pagodas at the center. Such an iconic sight as you enter the resort.

Before checking in to our rooms, we had lunch at the Sands Restaurant.

Our lunch here started with a quick cooking class at the restaurant's open kitchen. The chef showed how to make the Jukut Cantok, a salad of vegetables with coconut dressing.

Then we were ushered to the wine cellar where we would be having lunch.

The meal started by CramCam Soup, which is clear chicken soup with Balinese Spices. For the main course, we were served with Ayam Betutu (roasted chicken with Balinese spices), Ikan Bakar Sambal Matah (grilled fish fillet with shallot lemongrass dressing), Sate Lilit (fish satay), Pergedel Jagung (corn fritters), and Tumeric Rice.

The corn fritters and fish satay were delicious!

Instead of having it at the wine cellar, the desserts were prepared at the resort's beach front pool. A really nice location to have desserts while enjoying the cool breeze.

For dessert we had the Talam Ubi Ungu (sweet purple yam cake), Pandan Steam Cake, Cantik Manis (Indonesian cake), Pisang Rai (poached bananas in coconut batter), and Fresh Fruits. Anvaya's desserts were beautifully presented and delicious.

After the delicious lunch, we were ushered to our rooms.

The room we were staying at was the Premier Twin Room. I just love how comfortable the bed was and soft the pillows were. The room was well-appointed with the basic needs of tourists and more.

I find it to be great with families with the size of the room and the amount of storage it has.

After settling in the room, I took time to look around the resort. With nearly 500 rooms, the luxury resort was really big. During our stay, I was only able to explore half of the resort.

I love how the resort was able to blend traditional Balinese design elements with contemporary design.

The resort also has a number of swimming pools -- three main swimming pools near the Sands Restaurant, the beach front swimming pool, and the deluxe swimming pool.

After exploring the resort, I had a quick nap at our room before heading off for dinner.

We had a beach front dinner for our last night in Bali. The resort prepared a surf and turf buffet for us featuring Balinese and Western flavors.

While enjoying our dinner, we were entertained with a traditional Balinese dance.

For most part of the meal we just chatted together and talked about some of the highlights of our trip to Bali.

The trip to this famous Indonesian island was surely a treat. I made a lot of first moments happen here that I will always remember. As someone who enjoys a good gastronomic adventure, I really enjoyed the food we had in Bali.
