Shabu worth P600,000 seized in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Police Office has seized about P600,000 worth of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride in separate drug busts in Bacolod City over the weekend.

On Saturday, May 4, operatives of Police Station 3 arrested Rolly Gumabras, 39, of Barangay Banago after he was caught selling shabu to a police undercover at 12:20 a.m.

Police recovered from Gumabras’ possession six sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated value of P125,000, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

At about 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, operatives of Police Station 7 also neutralized Warren Abalos, 42, a high value target along with his companions Marvic Diola, 25, and Francisco Nunal in Purok Balinday in Barangay 2.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P150,000, the P500 marked money, .45 caliber revolver and drug paraphernalia.

On Friday evening, May 3, operatives of Police Station 3 arrested Gilbert Casiano, a high value target in Purok Kasagingan, Barangay Banago.

Police recovered from Casiano’s possession six sachets of shabu weighing six grams with an estimated market value of P75,000 and the P500 marked money.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, high value target Nolito Cuadro and his companions Mark Anthony Galicia, 29, and Ryan Cuadra, 26, were also arrested in a joint drug-bust operation of BCPO, Regional Intelligence Division-6, and City Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 13 sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with estimated market value of P240,000, the P1,000 marked money and coin purse.

Operatives of Police Station 6 also arrested Hernani Aguilar, 45, and Herbon Bernasol, 40, in Purok Gonzaga, Barangay Taculing at about 9 p.m. Friday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P10,000, the P300 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at BCPO’s custodial facility and facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2000 and Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
