Miral was killed by unidentified gunmen while he was on his way home from Jasaan town last April 21. He sustained five gunshot wounds and did not get to the hospital alive.

Emano said he could only release the reward money from his intelligence funds once the election is over.

"Dili man ko kalihok karon tungod sa election ban. Mahuman lang ang election ug kung modaog kita atong ipagawas ang reward," Emano said.

(I could not move freely because of the election, but once the election is done and if I will win again, I will release the reward.)

The governor said Miral was a very close ally and staunch supporter of Padayon Pilipino and he cannot allow to have the case remain unsolved.

He said he has talked to some members of the family but he could divulge yet the information he got related to the case.

"Ginapagawas sa mga kontra sa politika nga sulbad na ang kaso kay naay nadakpan pero katong nadakpan were caught for illegal possession of firearms ug dili related sa kaso. Gusto nila ipagawas nga dili politically motivated. It's election season and its very complicated," Emano said.

(Political opponents made it appear that the case was already resolved, but the one who was arrested was only caught for illegal possession of firearms and it's not related to the case. They want to make it appear that the death was not politically motivated. It's election season and it's very complicated.)

Emano said that they are close with Miral when he was still alive. He also called on the investigators to solve the case and bring the suspects to justice.
